Has anyone had any experience with High Plains boring and rifling in North Dakota
I have a couple of barrels that need work . Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks

I sent a Stevens 44 1/2 barrel to him for reboring quite a few years ago,and asked nicely for him to send it back after a year since he hadn't started on the rebore yet. He might do good work, but I guess that I wasn't patient enough to find out.

I had a similar experience with a 14 pound Shiloh Sharps in 45/120 I wanted rebored and chambered to 50/70.
I finally got it back after many phone calls (well over a year later) with what I assume were vise marks from removing the barrel from the receiver.
It shot the Gov’t bullet well (1:36 RH twist). This was 10 to 12 years ago.

Try Jesse Ocampa  if you want a rebore he's fast and does quality work. If l remember right his website is 35caliber.com and he kinda prides himself that he's only going to have your job about two weeks. His phone number is on the website give him a call he's a great guy to talk to.

I had a Ballard barrel rebored/rifled in my desire twist by High Plains around 2 yrs ago. The turn around was in the range of 1 1/2-2 months. I found the grooves smooth but the tops of the lands showed reamer marks. I spent a little time lapping the bore and I find now it shoots very well. It was a .38 cal. now its a .40-70 straight and with paper patch loads it shoots as good as my other 40's.

Norm has made several barrels for me. They're kinda like Les Bauska's used to be, not quite as pretty as some others, but they do shoot very well.
