Rodney Storie castings so nice

Couple years ago I purchased a HiWall action set as well as the 87 Farrow action. Worked over the Farrow to the point of block and trigger group fits and functions. Couple weeks back read of Rodney retiring so had to get busy and complete another order. 87 Farrow, Hiwall DST and the 74 Sharps. Received them yesterday and they are nice!!!!
Have a lot of head scratching to do to clean up the mortises on my shaper and a threading fixture for the lathe. Pretty stoked for sure and so pleased to do business with Rodney! Thank you sir!!
Walter

Yes he is retiring. Who is going to fill his shoes? He has supplied castings for many years. I just ordered a Ballard kit from him.

Yeah, they are nice.  I have 3 kits in various stages of completion.  I should order more, but I’ll probably never get them finished.  The Whitney Phoenix is the furthest along of mine.  It just needs a barrel, some finishing work, and a stock.

This 74 Sharps is fantastic casting. I’m leaning towards a light cleanup of the mortise and fit the rest to that. So much fun dreaming and scheming about these!!

Rodney has a lot of molds. I've built most of his casting sets, some several times. When I asked him about the molds he said he was looking for someone to buy them & continue the business. i'm almost 80, so I'm out. Anyone else looking for a sideline business should contact him.

If anyone is going to continue Rodney's business, he (or she) really needs to know what he is doing.  Someone with the technical skills, a business interest, and a lot of marketing ability.  Rodney's reputation has a lot to do with his success.

Gentlemen, I was hoping to buy an action or two from him. However, I just recieved a reply back from Mr. Storie stating he sold the dies and all inventory to a man in Michigan. No idea who, hopefully that individual gets started with production fairly soon.

When the source in Michigan is up and running, please post the contact info. Hopefully it does not die on the vine like The Cody Ballard transfer after it went to Mich.
