  I misspoke when I said it's a "one piece extractor". It's the same as all original #3 two piece extractors. I was thinking about the square sliding extractor used on the 1885's and wishing it had that type of two piece extractor.
My friend Fred took a vacation every year for many years to either Shiloh or Cody to buy a new Sharps, or Ballard. I sold his collection after his passing and kept the Schoyen Ballard .22LR with match chamber. It is exactly as ordered new. If I recall he picked it up in 2002 and was the finest of all his Cody built Ballard rifles in his collection.

I'm not much on engraving but that picture of JerryH's Ballard caught my eye. That is nice engraving... By the way I just ordered a Ballard kit from Rodney Storie so guess what type extractor it's going to get.
