I recently found this bag listed as fly pin & split pin for hammer. Does anyone know what this could be? Thank you for any help.

I would agree with Lyle.  Winchester 1885 for sure.  The threaded  piece look like the nut that holds dies in a Lyman lube sizer

While on the subject, any hacks for keeping the bloody fly pin from migrating out of position? I've resorted to extra length pins and peened the ends after installation, which works. Been considering a tiny split pin or roll pin for easier installation, but haven't pursued it. 1/16" diameter, or am I misremembering? If so, McMaster-Carr has them but I don't need 500 of them even though they're only $14.

I’ve never had a fly pin “walk out” of a hammer, so I’ve never had to think about a fix.  Just make sure your pin is full diameter at one end or the other to be a good friction fit in your hammer.

I believe that fly is for use with a set trigger, but I’ve never paid much attention so don’t take my word for it.  I do Know that the half cock fly from the Winder Musket will also work with a single set trigger, at least it did on mine.

I agree that the largest piece, the threaded thing, looks like the die retainer nut for a Lyman Lubri-Sizer.  You got an interesting little bag there.  Cool

Borrow your wife’s nail polish and put a dab on each side of the fly pin.  I used that for preventing screws from loosening when I fixed cameras.

No problem.  Just go up to the cosmetic counter at your local mall big box store, the counter with the cutest young lady.   Ask her what shade of polish would look good on your nails.

Believe it or not, I have.  A while back I bought a used Wyoming Armory highwall.  While I was playing with it, the pin and fly fell out of the action!  I suspect that someone had added that pin and fly later though, maybe thinking of converting the standard trigger to a single set.  The pin was a very sloppy fit so I doubt it was done at Wyoming Armory.

Chris.
