	I have three Hepburns and none are all original. One I considered reworking to 22 is now a 219 zipper. Have contemplated one but can't find a barrel worth all the work involved. Even if I could find a barrel I don't have the dimensions (hint hint) to work from. You have a beautiful rifle... JMH

JMH Hepburns have always been popular rifles to customize, and I also own some rebarreled Hepburns.

	I was on the trail of an all original in 45-70 a gentleman here got in a package deal with some more single shots last summer. We conversed back and forth for a while and I thought he was going to let it go but he told me he wanted to keep it for a while and as he said "play with it" and I can't blame him and told him so. Real nice fellow. But he did give me first dibs at it if and when he decides to sell. I am afraid he may like it once he shoots it lol... Also I did a bit of research on the 22 cal conversions and they take a bit of work. Don't think it is anything I can't handle but like I stated I haven't sourced a barrel as yet. JMH

	I have a good friend in his 80's who pulled a Hepburn out of his safe one visit and said he was thinking of selling it. I immediately told him I'd take it that day, or any day he might be ready to let it go. He's in his 80's and I thought he seemed ready to let it go soon? His Hepburn has an extra heavy 32" full octagon barrel in .45-70, and the wood is deluxe walnut, with a fully engraved receiver! Long range vernier tang sight, and windage globe front sight too! Just makes me weak in the knees looking at it! But he kinda pulled back when I got to gushing over it, and told me he'd put a note on it to contact me if he died before he decided to sell it. So all I can do is hope he does put a tag on it, and that his son sees it and actually calls if he unfortunately does pass.

	Marlinguy, I still have hopes he will someday call and offer it up. Meanwhile I am still on the hunt for an all original. Caliber not really important as long as it is untouched. I am not that into engraving but somehow on a Hepburn it peaks my interest. JMH
