He's as close as the post office or UPS.  Unless you're trying to support the rural economy in the geographic area you mention, anyplace more than about 50 miles from your house is cheaper to ship than to drive.

Al does a great job, and has good turnaround time.

I send things to Al via UPS, but Al said he can't return things via UPS as they don't serve his tiny town of Moore, Mt. It cost me a special $14 fee to have my last Ballard delivered by UPS in Moore. But still cheaper using Pirateship/UPS at $46 for the barreled action, and the heavy new barrel that's going on it.
I've used Al Springer for a very long time, and he does all my color case and rust bluing work. Great prices and quick turn around.
