Douglas,
I am interested in what you find out about the Whitworth rifling in a new barrel.  I have a Monkeytail that has Whitworth rifling but the barrel was cut off at about 15 inches.  Too bad because the original rifling is in great shape.  I’ve thought about getting a new Whitworth barrel and using it as a “Liner” onto the original barrel.

I haven't made any serious inquiries yet.

I have to determine if what have, will shoot or not. It's to cold here in OK right now for this old guy to go to the range.

I did get my brass for this gun Buffalo Arms.

Given the nature of the responses, I have my doubts I will find a Whitworth rifle 8 groove .507 bbl..
