Store bought bullets

I have been working on components for a 8.15 x 46R rifle I recently purchased and through some good folks here I managed to obtain dies and brass but had no bullets. Since then a gentleman offered to send me some to try. I was also told Buffalo Arms sold 170 gr stop ring bullets so being impatient I ordered a box of 100 to try. When I got them they were properly packaged in a plastic tray. When I poured them out is was disappointed with what I got. A lot of them I would consider culls. At least when I cast they would have been returned to the pot. Wrinkles not properly filled out etc... I know they were not top dollar (23.00 @ 100) plus shipping but when I have ordered from other sources like Red Rock or Meister the quality was much better. I went ahead and loaded them today and hopefully will get a chance to shoot them in the near future. Very curious as to what I will get as far as accuracy. Buffalo sells a lot of good quality stuff but they need to tighten up the quality on their cast bullets if all are this way.

I don't know if they do their own or have someone do them but in any event these were sub par to be selling to anyone as first line merchandise. Everyone's perception of quality is a bit different believe me after 36 years in aerospace manufacturing I think I am a pretty good judge of good and bad. Parts from overseas countries are a nightmare. May be one reason I have never flown. Seen way too much. But that's another story. If these shoot worth a darn I will solve the problem and order a mold. That way I control my quality.

As mentioned I'd call BACO and tell them what's going on. Bet they send something better.

Ok just got off the phone with BACO and he said they cast their own and he was unaware of anything wrong but offered no apologies or offer to replace them or anything in the way of compensation. His exact words were and I quote" I will let them know" and that's it and hung up the phone. I thought Dave Gullo was better than that...

Sorry in my initial post I said the quantity was 100 but was mistaken (old age setting in) it was 50 pcs for $23.00 plus 12.00 shipping so $35.00 for some less than good quality cast bullets.

I would say BACO has a bad attitude when it comes to customer service/satisfaction.

I’m surprised that BACO is casting their own bullets as an operation like that somehow just doesn’t seem to fit their merchandizing profile. But what do I know except common sense would indicate their is good profit margin doing it in house.

Generally I would always recommend calling in your quality complaints as there is usually a vendor or two who may not know they have a problem unless the buyer alerts them. Bullets arent aerospace where a defective product in space is a real dead end failure. But then aerospace components and vendors operate in a production environment with layers of inspection from QA people hopefully working with vendors to prevent such. My Wife spent forty years in aerospace as a QA engineer.

As a QA engineer you say 40 years you say? Please give her my sympathies lol... I worked in quality for a few years so I sympathize.
