What is involved in converting a Stevens 44 .25 Rimfire for use with .22 LR besides a new extractor and barrel?

Possibly the link or block. You can generally get away with one caliber change, 25 firing pin position will strike a 22. 32 will hit a 25. As long as you don’t have a 32 block it will probably work. Won’t know until you try. Or fire a 25 and measure where it would a 22.

I have done a few by installing a liner in the barrel and sometime welding up the extractor or installing a new one. Wisner's has the spring loaded extractor / ejector for 22 RF.

I have a 44 with the original 22 LR and 25 RF barrels. I switch back and forth and shoot both.I only need to change the extractor, and barrel, of course
