I'll be taking my Browning BPCR to a week long match. What do you recommend for an emergency repair kit?

A pint of turpentine, to clean out the action if it starts mis-firing.  Just pour it through from the top and shake it out.

Other than that, it gets really difficult to do anything to these.  Anything beyond that, requires a couple slave pins and a good knowledge of how to get them back together, in addition to the spare part required.

I took one apart at a match and put it back together.  It took two of us, and I don't think I could do it again.

Heading out to a long range shoot next week and I will be taking 3 rifles, and enough ammo for each, just in case. None of them have ever let me down, but I know better than to drive very far to a shoot and not have a spare or two.

Any match, particularly when distance or expense is involved, I take a second outfit. It’s quick to change guns and avoids Harry Helpfull pulling out his leatherman tool and yanking parts out of my gun.

I have a small tool kit and cleaning rod that goes along, never use it on the firing line. If I had to fix a gun during a match would loose focus on hitting targets.

Boats

My take along tool kit is what we always called a tanker bag. It’s about size that will hold a thermos bottle, center zipped two outside pockets.  Inside two Chapman tool kits one slot one Allen head. Another box, repurposed 38 cal 50 round bullet box holds specialty bits, 

Main tool bag inside the tanker is a bankers bag, used to carry cash to the bank. It has a collection of specialty and homemade tools. Slave assembly pins for the CPA, 1911 barrel barrel bushing wrench, Marlin 39a homemade non scratch action takedown screwdriver and a push the ejector to lock down tool. Mini plastic strap wrench for shotgun tubes and magazine tube lock nut. Delrin tool to remove SxS forends

Any gun, brass and steel punch pins, small brass hammer. Very small pliers, water pump a parallel jaw Sargent and mini needle nose locking plier. Small adjustable wrench Proto Click Stop. Pistol sized cleaning rods CF & RF with a few brushes and jags. Tiny tubes of lube oil and grease 

Last a plastic pipe tube with a pair Delrin knock out rods 3/16 for .22, larger for CF guns. And most important 4x4 piece of canvas to spread out when taking things apart.

All this back of the car, good match should have a designated safe area table away from the line for gun repairs. That’s were I will pull the bag out.

The $25.00 kit John Stepps made for the Miroko Hiwall was perfect!   Compact,he told you what punches to have ,to make a couple blocks of wood to hold action. I spent an afternoon tearing one down and putting it back together. Got to where I could dismantle and reassemble in like half hour tops. I gave the kit with the last Browning I sold. I've asked this before on another post,anyone having his kit maybe can post a pic....
