Buttstock for Japchester

Like it says in the subject line, I am looking for a replacement buttstock for my .22 low wall that I shoot 22 BPCR with.  I don't like the current crescent design and also would like something longer.  I have tried Treebone, CPA, etc, with no luck.
Any suggestions???

Art,
It’s not the exterior shape that is the issue.  It’s the inleted area of the stock that is different.  I have read in the past that Dave Crossno could do it.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Dave left us some time ago, but Mike Basset bought the business and if Dave did it, then Mile can still do it. Mike did a lot of that work when he worked for Dave.

Interesting, I talked to them about 2 years ago and they said they didn’t have any stock that would work.  I think that when it comes to reproduction 1885’s made by Miroku and they are not all the same.  I will have to check it out.

Yep. I'm sure TexasMac will be along to sort it out, but in short there's different stocks used on Miroku-made HW's (Browning and/or Winchester-branded) depending on presence or absence of tangs, straight-wristed or pistol grip, etc. It can get confusing if you don't have a hymnal to follow along.

You could get the reshaped blank from Pecontica and do the inletting yourself, or have some one fit it.

I am looking for a 90-95% finished stock.  I don't have the tools, skills or patience to do the inletting from scratch.  And I don't have the time to let someone else do the work.  That's why I am looking for a inletted stock.

Cheers,
Steve

You could keep an eye on eBay. My Miroku Winchester is the traditional hunter with a shotgun style stock. I have seen take offs on eBay pop up

I have tried one of my Brg BPCR buttstocks on my
Low Wall Traditional Hunter.  It "bolted right up".
The low Wall TH has a top tang , but
it is about a half inch shorter than the BPCR stock.
CPA is now offering the Brg bpcr stock. You could ask them to cut the top tang inlet short.
Or  "dibble guns"  ( Dave Crossno's old company)
Same story.  BRG BPCR stock with top tang inlet 1/2 inch short.
Of course, if your Brg Low Wall has no tang "all bets are off"
