Think of all those small holes as a dampening device, waves struggle going through holes... Roll Eyes

Think I have a bag of little grease zerks round here some place. Now what did I do with those?

are they threaded zerks or the hammer-in kind? The latter are only suitable for low pressure loads. Placed properly, though it saves having to take a separate lubing tool to the already cluttered bench.

Drill through to the bore and have a built in Pope style lubricator.  Seat bullet, pump lube, insert case, fire!

There's nothing new under the sun. Dave Casey has been using grease zerks since the 19th century.

that would simplify greasing the bullet but only if breech seated already.

No, it's a joke, a spoof. The grease zerk is just sitting there on the barrel. You may know that but thought I better mention it just in case someone decides to do it for real. And Dave is old but not old enough to have lived in the nineteenth century. Well, perty sure about that anyway.

Meh. I simply pump a big gob of axle grease into the chamber before seating a bullet. No pan lubing for me. Good accuracy but the bugger kicks like an Army mule when she goes off.

Seriously though I'm liking Jack's solution.

Obviously a spoof. But I like the concept.

I like the Ballard seater design that Skalkaho shared with us, I've reverse eng. it.  Still working out the details from a photo but here is it's current state with a little time on it...

Great news Greg!  I liked that design also and saved pictures for a project later on.  Now I am hopeful that I can just steel your plans! Cheesy

The seater I made like what Vall showed was a tough one, this one appears much simpler to make

Years ago at Cody Wyoming a shooter from San Diego was using a beautiful engraved Rigby Ballard. He was using a breech seater that pressed against the real part of the BB mortice. The metal in that area was displaced upward. It looked bad. I decided to never use a breech seater of that design on a Ballard.
