1/2 inch all thread for bolts. Aluminum inserts in the jaws to protect the actions. I've used this on any single shot I ever removed a barrel off. On the one rare occasion on the #3 Ballard I used a pipe over the handle to get even more leverage, but normally the 2 foot handle is plenty.
