Here he is at the Hamilton 100 shot offhand match this last weekend shooting his new 25 Hornet Stevens 44 1/2.  He got it the day before the match and it did well getting him 2nd place.

Good pics thanks for sharing. I shot the Cooper One Shot a couple of times in Hamilton. I really like that range. Hopefully I can make up for a Schuetzen Match one day  Smiley

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Pretty nifty looking Stevens. Guessing Joe knew it's capabilities to be able to take it out untested?

JHM,

My 25 Hornet is an expanded 22 Hornet.  Mine has a tight chamber though and requires taking some metal off just ahead of the rim to fit.

Looks like a hole in the left side of the barrel? Some kind of mid barrel muzzle break! Good shooting Joe

Had cataract surgery on the 13th so not supposed to lift anything heavy and not suppose to shoot heavy recoil guns. Was tempted to take my 25-20SS Ballard but it weighs over fifteen pounds and to heavy for me to do a 100 shot match. Then I saw this little 25 Hornet Keith Meyers posted for sale. So I snatched it up real quick and shot a check to him. Got here at 10 AM Friday. All I had to do was install iron sights, make up a simple breech seater and cast bullets. The Dave Mos bullet seems to fit perfect.

Not having a load I used 7 grains 4227 which is a grain less that I use in the 25-20SS. First day shots were going to call but a few bullets were tipping. Second day raised the charge to 7 1/2 grains which cured the tipping.  Being able to see the sights and targets was wonderful and the little popper fits me just right.

Vall, BRC barrel, CPA double sets, cool looking old target rifle, and Keith said it was ready to go... What could go wrong?  Wink
