Rodney, Enjoy retirement. You and your services will be missed. Hope you will still show up at some gun shows and matches.

Congratulations Rodney. I built a Stevens 44 1/2 back in the 90s from your kit. They will be missed. You have done a great service to this obsession.

We hate to see each departure, be it stock-makers gunsmiths or whatever.   You’ve been good for your compatriots.    Enjoyed the one visit with you where you took time to chat and then effort to rummage through your stock for what I needed.   My Best to you in retirement!

Best Regards,
John

Congrats Rodney!
Good for you... some fun times ahead!
I'm super appreciative for all the kit offerings you have made available to us... as well as the help & notes in completing these!
I will look through your list again and see about a final order.
Thanks again!

Though we’ve never met in the flesh or on this site your reputation for quality and ethics clears a pretty high bar with this group. But let me ask if you don’t mind will there be anybody stepping in as you are stepping out ? I ask as there is a very real shortage of small foundries that can and will take on work similar to yours.

I recall a few years ago talking with Jerry Cleave regarding an order and his was saying he lost his foundry and couldn’t find another. I hooked him up with a small Amish family run foundry who’d do his work but these outfits are rare. Custom wood boat builders have relied on these shops forever but in New England the last good bronze foundry in Salisbury, MA closed up ten years ago, there is but only one custom aluminum foundry left in Salem, MA and only a very few iron foundries for small special jobs left. It doesn’t look promising. Hoping you trained somebody

I've enjoyed reading articles by people who started with your castings to make their rifle. Best wishes for a long and productive retirement.

Happy Retirement!
Whatever you do stay busy.  Those who don't have a distinctly shorter longevity.
Hope to see you again at The Quigley.
