I have a question for those that are casting with an adjustable Paper patch mold. I have one from BACO, its a .44 cal PP bullet. It does make a very nice bullet but I am having problems keeping the base plug hot enough for it to fill out to  a sharp edge. My allow is in the 30-1 range running at about 750 deg. If I am casting with 2 molds, I get very pretty bullets but often the base has a flaw. If I just use one mold the bullets will often be frosted but with a much better base. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I will fire the pot back up this afternoon and give that a try. I need to make an adjustment on the bullet length any way so I will see if I can get them up to around 430 or so and see how they cast. Currently they are dropping out around 388 but getting a lot of weight variation. I had some heavier ones I had cast earlier and they were a lot more consistent.

I made up a base plug for my Steve Brooks PP adjustable mould out of stainless steel and it helped. Holds heat better
