I have a Steven's 44 1/2 in .38-55. I am using the .38-55 2.125" Starline brass (because I have a Ballard too in the caliber) and when loading the hammer spur seems to be a bit too high. Now it works fine, just have to hold the cartridge at a bit of an angle to load past the hammer spur. So started to think perhaps they made a different spur shape for some calibers? Or maybe they used the shorter Winchester brass which, I'm guessing, won't interact with the hammer spur.
Thoughts or knowledge welcome.
Using a 255 Gr Postel bullet if that makes any difference. Also, it shoots well so...
