What  intraocular lens do you guys recommend for peep sights?

Of coarse you are only allowed to have a lens in the back or the front but not both since then it would be a telescopic sight.

I have used magnification lens of different magnification levels in the front versus the back.
I have also tried adjustable diopter lens in the back which provide leaps and bounds in providing better clarity than magnification lens and allows you to adjust to meet your specific eye's need plus have the ability to focus both your front sight and/or target sight which the other lens do not allow.
Lones Wigger always advised to focus the front sight to be clearer than the target.

Get an adjustable diopter lens for your back sight JG.
They work great for guys with aging eyes.

I got the standard one to correct for distance vision Joe and it works well with peep sights.  Just need glasses for reading.

Joe

I've been practicing offhand with a 1.75x front lens to get a similar sight picture at 100 yards as with the indoor 50 foot target.  I had to get used to it magnifying the wobble.

Rear sight adjustable Arpeture size is the key, let’s you adjust for varying light. I turn mine often and many days, mixed clouds, check it every shot

Front lens  power is a individual thing and in my experience older eyes it varies day to day. Optometrist near me, top level bullseye pistol shooter, has a kit with different power lens you can rent and try. Amazon has essentially the same kit for sale. Friend of mine bought one and loans it to the guys he shoots with. Works well taped to the front globe housing, not for actual shooting just experimenting with focus. Much better than buying individual lens for the front then another looking for better focus. Went through that drill with my Smallbore prone rifle. Ending up selling several on eBay at a loss before settling on one.

It’s become controversial at our club offhand single shot iron sight matches. We don’t shoot ASSRA rules, it’s long been “no magnification” only thing allowed glasses on the shooter not the rifle. Certainty changing in the sight a better solution and some have tried resulting in protest. Saturday we had 30 signed up two shy of range capacity. Two with magnification in the rear sight Arpeture, many with adjustable rear arpeture no magnification.  One with Olympic style special rifle glasses, legal under club rule, he won the match. Interesting he’s in his mid 70’s tied with another shooter mid 20’s, older shooter won in a shoot off.

We have the range of ages shooting. I’m 76 and went into the last relay one ahead of my 16 year old grandson, he ran the last 7 shots beating me by one

We can’t seem to come to agreement how to handle it, nobody wants to go to scopes, would change the character of the match. We do need to allow adjusting for individual eyesight.

I have both the adjustable diopter (not a fixed power) as well as adjustable aperture size (iris) in my rear sight.

I adjust the light first and then focus my front sight and target sight with the adjustable diopter.

I have been using a Gehmann like this for over 25 years. It has 1.5X magnification.

If you suffer from the common problems of myopia (short-sightedness), hypermetropia (long-sightedness) or astigmatism the Gehmann 0% to 4.0% Sphere will correct for you:

You insert (stack) the Gehmann or Anschutz add-ons between the Anschutz iron sight and the eye piece.
Here you can see the adjustable apertures (iris), adjustable diopter , color filters and polarizer on my Anschutz sight.
To do so with Redfield sights you need an adapter to fit them together.

I never found much benefit from color filters or the polarizer.

The Anschutz globe front sight has an Anschutz sun shade and a Gehmann adjustable front iris or aperture as well.

Being able to properly balance my light plus focus my front sight relative to the target I was able to be the International Schuetzen Benchrest Champion in 2008 when I could only see the iron sight target a third of the time because I had cataracts at that time.

And the front sight extender doubles as a bayonet in an emergency.
