Remington Barrel

Hey guys hope all of you are well. I’ve come across an octagonal Remington barrel in my travels. There is a number on the bottom of the barrel. Is there anyone around here who might have info on the barrel based on the number?
Thank You,
Scott

Probably not from barrel #, is it a serial number?  Does it say E Remington & sons or Remington Arms?

I'll have to go back and check. I saw a 22 and 56777 underneath almost like a T.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Normally it's a serial number under the forearm. But not sure I've ever seen a serial number on a #1, or #3 Hepburn ever that large? And the "2  2" is more puzzling.

I'd hazard a guess it's for a #4 rolling block if it's a. 22 rf

The more the pinball rattles in my head the more I think it is from a Remington Rolling Block. The barrel is rather petite: if anybody is looking for one it is at Bruno Shooter’s Supply.

I looked into the Remington Rolling Block Rifle etc by Marcot. The serial # would make it a #4 and made before 1924 when Remington replaced octagon barrels with round barrels.
