Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Looks very nice!
Always thought a wedding band transition adds a very nice touch to a half octagon barrel.

Looks nice David!

I get gigged all the time because I have several barrels that have wedding bands on them, some even with two bands (octagon to round and at the muzzle).   I believe some think I'm a polygamist because I'm married to several rifles...  Grin Grin

Looks good. I get to do them occasionally, mostly on muzzle loading barrels.

Dave,  I'd like to try a wedding ring on my next bbl.  I wonder if you could post a picture of your tools and set up?

I would also like to see your setup and  a up close view of your bits . That makes a very attractive transition from round to octagon.  Thanks JR

I have been doing wedding bands on my barrel jobe fot quite a few years. I have two tools- one cuts three bands and the other cuts six. They are a different variation than the usual and draw a lot of attention when guys notice them, plus the out of the ordinary factor.

I think it is too pronounced. To me it should be muted a good bit. I'm not against wedding bands, just think they should just accent the joint not be the main focus of the joint.

You must be a heck of a cutter grinder. What do you grind your tools on?
