Recently purchased a beautiful Fecker 16x Champion and it was missing the objective lens cap. I contacted "nuclearcricket" here at ASSRA and asked if he could make me one. He said sure, and less than a week later it arrived in today's mail!
A perfect fit, and as nice as any cap I've ever seen. Sam does superb work!

Thank you GS. For those that don't know, knurling is not an easy process. In my case I use what is called a scissor knurling tool. Its called that from the way it looks, there is a roller at 12 and 6 o'clock and they are forced into the material by tightening a hand wheel. The material is forced into the hardened rollers and causes the raised knurl. As the diameter gets larger it gets even harder to apply the knurl. Different materials react differently as well, some are a real bear to knurl and diamonds can be even worse.
All in all I feel my little lathe does a pretty good job at doing what I ask it to do. I do measure often just to make sure but all in all its pretty accurate. And at times its just a pretty handy thing to have around. As an example, I recently picked up a set of steel loading dies for .357 mag. They were used and the price was right. Turns out that the sizing die had picked up a piece of brass and it was causing damage to the cases. It was nice to just chuck it up and go in and polish things out will the offending piece of brass was gone. A little rub with some diamond dust and the die was as good as new.
