Saeco 640 for 18” twist, Saeco 740 for 16”.  Alloy of 16-1.  Both will knock rams over at about 1250fps.

If you have a MVA tang might as well go for a MVA globe front. Personally I must have a rear adjustable Arpeture too. MVA’s is a good one.

Step back and think about it sight system controls every shot fired. Poor sight picture due changing light or individual eyesight. Lack of precise repeatable adjustments make good results on target difficult.

Thank you all for the input, this definitely will help me to get a better start! Now to decide if I want to change out the front sight for a globe. Already changed out the rear for a quality and properly fitting MVA.

Your sight picture will be greatly improved with a globe front sight with peep type sight inserts, in combination with your MVA tang sight.

About to order one of Lee's front sights now. Now I just need to make up my mind on the standard 17a, or his P-H which is a little larger. Any thoughts? Out of all my rifles, only one has a globe front and it's a Kelly.

I like the larger ones.  I find it easier to acquire the target with a little bigger field of view.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I mostly shoot long distance so my preference is the smaller diameter. If I shot mostly 300 yds. or less the larger PH would be better.
