My Wasp likes the Sierra 45 grain .223 Hornet. Depending of the age/source of your barrel, lighter .223 bullets may work better than heavier .224 bullets. My rifle is quite happy with the old time powders like 27 grains of 4064, 27.5 grains of 4895, and especially 28.5 grains of 4320 and 25 grains of 3031. Only newer powder I had any luck with was 26 grains of Vitahouri N135.

Best in mine, 4895/52 gr. 3350 fps.

I've got a HW in 225 Win. I think it's very close to the Zipper, in case capacity.

My best load is 33.0 - 33.3 gr of either 4895 or Varget, with a 50 to 52 gr bullet and a 15 twist bbl. Varget is a little better.

It's load sensitive though and has to be in that 33/33.3 range. 3/8 - 1/2" groups @ 100 and the group doubles out of the load range.

For the 219 Wasp, The Speer #1 load manual gives 32.0 gr 4895 with a 50 gr bullet and 31.0 for the 55 gr. I'm sure that you could use Varget as a replacement but, start 2.0 gr under and work up.

The Wasp is .215 shorter than the 225.
