Stevens model 45 in 22WRF

Here's an interesting (to me anyway) model 45 I picked up back in December, and just shot a week ago. It's in original unmolested condition and the neat thing about it is the full octagon barrel chambered in 22WRF, with a still-good bore. I never shot that round before, and am having fun with it! The ammo isn't abundant everywhere, but not hard to get either, if you know where to look. I've seen a couple other Stevens falling blocks chambered in 22WRF over the years, one being a model 44 and the other a 1915 Favorite. I jumped on this one since its a 44-1/2 action I always try to get those when I can. But, I don't think any of them are very common in this caliber?

Nice find , especially with the scarce full octagon barrel. The 22-7 1/2 marking has probably confused plenty of even knowledgeable gun guys.

I'm curious as to the length of your barrel, and the width across the flats at the breech and muzzle.  Your rifle appears to have a #3 Swiss butt plate rather than the #2, is this correct?

The barrel length is just shy of 30”, and the width across flats at receiver is 0.980”. Two screw fore arm. Yep it’s a #3 buttplate, not #2.
Many years ago I picked up a similarly configured model 45. DST, full octagon barrel and #3 butt plate also. It’s in 22LR. It has a pistol grip stock though, not straight wrist.

.22 WRF, or .22 Winchester Rimfire.
Stevens did not want to mark their rifles with another manufacturer's name, hence .22-7 1/2.

Yes , just as the others (Remington , Winchester) stamped their rifles 25-10 not 25 Stevens.
