Selling a V.R. Enfield 1885 rifle with the unique Martini-Henry falling block locking system!

This historical weapon is a real gem!

The rifle was made by the renowned master gunsmith C.G. Bonehill in Birmingham converted to .22 LfB caliber for the Society of Miniature Rifle Club in the early 1900s.

Originally these rifles were used as standard weapons in the British Army from 1871 to 1889 and had a caliber of 577/450.

These rifles were also used in the so-called Boer War.

I acquired this rifle from my late father's estate a few years ago, but never used it myself. The mechanical and technical condition is good and the gun shoots.

The barrel is shiny as a mirror.

The shaft of course shows some signs of wear, but is still in fair condition.

Still a good price, the sights alone would cost close to that.  And yes, a .22 conversion, but Bonehill was by no means a master gunsmith, they did quite a lot of conversions actually, pretty decent quality.

Bonehill also lined the barrels on the Win 1885s the Brits bought back in that era for training rifles. My brother has one and it is marked on the muzzle with "Bonehill" and a number. The barrel also has British proof marks near the action. It is as accurate as any 22RF rifle he owns.
