Loading 32-20

I'm gearing up to load 32-20 with cast bullets on a Dillon 550 press and I'm looking for recommendations on die sets to purchase. I want to seat and crimp in separate operations and use an NOE expander plug to size the neck and case mouth.
Any suggestions and/or other helpful tidbits of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.
We've warmed up to -20°F here in Western Montana  so I'm starting to chomp at the bit for the shooting season tto start!

Around Dodge City and the territories out west, there's only one way to deal with the killers and the spoilers, and that's with a U.S. Marshall and the smell of...Gunsmoke.

I used my 550 to do all my BP silhouette  and Quigley loads,  45-70. Instead of a crimp buy the taper crimp die.  Good luck in your project......

I use a 3 die Lyman die set but use a Lee hand press for expanding and bullet seating since you get the feel of the operation.  The expander has a 31r plug.  I just loaded 70 rds a couple of days ago.  Waiting for global warming to set in to see how they shoot.

I'm in awe of somebody with enough .32-20 brass to justify a Dillon loader! I shoot my Colt Army Special rarely in order to make my dwindling supply last. I hate the thought of paying usurious market prices for the stuff and pray that Starline does another run of it.

I stopped by a not so local gun store last fall and they had a bag with 78 pieces of fired Win 32-20 for $20.  That is what I just loaded.

I travel a lot and look for .32-20 brass at every store I stop in.  I’m hoping Starline fills the back order they let me put in a little over a month ago.  When they allowed me to back order .32 S&W Long last year it took 6 months to fill the order.

I scored 500 Starline cases from Grafs about 3 weeks ago. They didn't last the day.

I would recommend you go slow with the Dillon as those necks aren't real thick. I use both a Lee FCD and a roll crimp. Haven't noticed any difference in accuracy.if careful brass will last.
It is a versatile cartridge in a strong action. It will perform across many different powders. Enjoy the journey.

Can you adapt it to breech seating?

Sold my 32/20 but, I neck sized the cases with the CH4D sizer die, expanded with a “M” die. Minimum working the brass, as mentioned by BP Jack seated the bullets with a Lee hand press, no crimp, seated bullets could be finger twisted could not be pulled out by hand.

Result fed well in a Marlin lever action. No bullet movement in the magazine or case problems. Accurate by Lever Silhouette standards. Load was a mild charge of Unique, about 1200 fps high round count use. Sold the gun & brass together & switched to a Marlin 25/20 its is fussier case wise that the 32/20 same methods, likely because velocity is higher.
