.50 Remington Navy cartridge

Just curious if anyone here might own one of the .50 Navy Remington Rolling Block pistols? I did a search in Cartridges of the World, and on the internet, and both state the cartridges are .86" long case. But a chamber cast of my pistol shows the chamber is 1.250" long, which is what both sources show as OAL for the loaded cartridge?
Hoping someone might shoot one of these and tell me what theirs is?
