Last sunday I got in some practice with the 12/15 at the indoor range, did some prone shooting at 75 m (that's 82 yds).
The rifle keeps impressing me with its accuracy - and it surely likes SK ammo.  The group below was shot with the SK long range match, but red box rifle match will do equally well, if not better.  9 out of 10 in a group just a bit over MOA, the errant shot not too sure - I didn't call it, but it still could have been me.

That's prone, sling only, from the elbows, with the standard peep sights (which are pretty good BTW)

Pretty happy with the rifle, the ammo and my shooting.  Typically, .22 LR tends to be quite unforgiving to shooter mistakes.

kept seeing my name- what the h...............? I didn't shoot that seven, blame somebody else!

Is there any serious prone shooter who has never shot a target like that?  I have shot several, or maybe several dozen, all attributable to me.

Next try, same rifle - 10 shots SK Long range this time.  2 shots out of the group, but then again no 7 this time.

That's shooting 'in the spirit of the original', 2 point sling, no hand stop.

Years ago, I spent some happy hours on the Eley customer test range with the late Bert Brooke’s.
Using barrelled actions clamped in a test rig, Bert was able to demonstrate that most quality .22 Ammo would group 8 or 9 shots inside a minute of angle. What the top brands, such as Tenex did was to eliminate the flyers.

No way around,  only the best stuff will be consistent.   Add to that that the little .22 is extremely sensitive to any inconsistencies or faults in holding, position,... if you see a difference in recoil behaviour of the rifle, you can be sure the POI will be different.

You can add Black powder rifles to that list!
