We were at a shoot last weekend in a town a little further up the road and when we finished the match it was determined there was enough time to make one lap around the a local gun show. A fellow member here saw me when I walked in the door and being an upstanding support group member promptly drug me over to the table with this item on it, he knew I'd have a tough time walking away and it would save him some money... Thanks CT.
Yup, it's a high wall, how's that for support Jack?
It's in a 22 Hornet and the bore appears to be in good shape, haven't scoped it yet. The part that stopped me and solidified the transaction was the single set group
seller didn't know it. The action has a couple extra holes similar to the musket design but it's not. The barrel has quite a few extra holes drilled in it but unless it's a real impressive shooter, it may get an upgrade.
Serial number puts it at 1890 mfg.
An interesting stock with cheekpiece...? what say you?

Nice! I like it! Have you checked the groove diameter? Some of the early .22 CF caliber barrels were .223 rather than .224.
The only real problem I see with it is that it's in your safe instead of mine.
I'm not a complete idiot, some of my parts are missing.

I believe there is a chapter on Dubiel in one of the two volumes of Custom Gunmakers of the 20th Century by Michael Petrov.

I need a 22 Hornet! I picked up 245 hornet cases at the last gun show. A low wall would be nice.

Pretty cool old single shot, and a Dubiel to boot! I think you got a neat gun!
