These first two pictures are the sanded out wood with alcohol applied to show the grain.

This last picture is where the gun is, as of yesterday, with color starting to be added.

I just wanted to update this thread with pictures of the blued barrel.

This was done with Mark Lee's express blue.  It turned out really nice with just a couple hours of work.  I did 10 cycles of the water bath.

Barrel blue looks fantastic. What's your plan for the frame, CCH?

Yes, CCH.  Still deciding on the hammer, breech block and lever.  Been leaning toward bluing but still undecided.  I always finish the wood with the metal in place so I have time to make that decision.

Really like the style of the stock, the lines flow well, and the design style of the forend tip and the pistol grip really complement each other.  Amazingly good work!

Nice piece of work! I am currently building a #3 Hepburn but I think yours is looking better than mine by a good measure.

Making some progress on the Favorite.  Wood finish is mostly done.

Started polishing metal today.  Once done, then off for some color and hardening.

Parts are now all polished and ready to go.  Some will be blued and some case hardened.  The pictured items are to be case hardened.  I don't polish constantly, but between this and the Fraser I've been off and on it for two weeks.  Really glad to be done!
