Could You Convert a MVA Action to a Low Wall?

I'm just spit balling here in search of food for thought on a Monday morning, but would it be correct assuming that the only difference between Hi and Low Wall Winchester (not counting the Miroku and Uberti made guns) actions is the lowering of the action behind the breech and around corresponding portions of the breech block?   If so, could an MVA action be milled down into a Low Wall configuration?  Again, I'm just speculating here and my question may have been born from too many cups of coffee.  Thanks

If you read about the Winder low wall muskets all started as high walls at Winchester.

Considering how inexpensive a beater Low Wall, or action is, compared to the price of an MVA High Wall action, I can't imagine why anyone would think this is a good idea?
Spend more money, and then spend some more to modify it too?

I've built a boat load of highwall casting sets from boulder river foundry & cut down about dozen to low walls. It is very time consuming to reshape reciever & breachblock. Can be done, but like others said, don't wack on an mva action!

Woah now don't beat him up too bad. Like he said he is just asking a question. But I agree don't alter that action. There are some lo walls out there both foreign and domestic that can be had. But if you just have to do it start with a casting. Far less damage if something goes not to plan.

My interpretation of his question was that he didnt have an action yet and was thinking of getting an mva then altering it. MVA will make a low wall action and send it to you. I think for what the highwall actions cost. As far as finding a beater action- if a person is comfortable doing their own work a straight grip action in the sub $500 range coupled with tang and triggers from MVA for 3-400$ plus elbow grease for a strike and polish, new screws and springs and hope no pits/dings need filling- probably within a 300$ of a new mva.

I see complete Low Wall rifles under $1000 on occasion, and they only needed removing the barrel to start a build. No reason to buy a real beater for $500 and then stick money into it also to make it a decent starter when complete guns aren't too high yet.

MVA wants $1250 for an entry level 1885, and no mention of a Low Wall? I'd assume that would be more money for additional non standard item?

Not doing, but thanks for the observations on doing so.
This answer is kind of what I was shooting for.  Thanks!

Thanks.  In part, I too was asking what the basic differences are between the two actions.

I think there were some conclusions being jumped to in my post.  For starters I do not have a MVA action and probably won't be able to afford one for some time.  So the guys up in Montana can rest easy tonight knowing this.  Second, I was hoping to learn something about the Low and Hi Walls.  I suspect the two actions are identical, save for the material removed from the receiver and breech block on the former.  I guess next time I'll have to qualify my question with a caveat.  However, thanks for the information, especially the item about MVA making Low Walls themselves.  I have not found this on their web site so that kind of proves that the only way one can find things like this out is by asking on forums like this one.  However, next time I will be sure to be more careful in how I do the asking.
