Well, I really did not mean I wouldn't want a set trigger heavy barrel Ballard 22 LR with an excellent bore at a fantastic price.
Has some issues with removing the block, but once in place it functions well.  The buttstock could use some repair or I might replace it. It is a cast action with mismatched serial numbers, but I wasn't looking for a collector-quality rifle.  The only marking on the barrel is done with an electric engraver under the forend with the initials R W S and a date of 72 along with some numbers that look like a social security number.
Now to see how it shoots.

Ah, I saw it was a .22 by hovering over the image.

Ah yes, the caliber. I added 22LR to the post.  This was absolutely the only caliber, bore condition, set trigger Ballard that I would have bought.  Plus it came with a nice Weaver K4-W scope.

It took some enlarging of the holes in a couple of scope blocks to accommodate them to the existing barrel holes, but this looks better than the K4-W Weaver that came with it.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Schwartzstock,

I will be stalking the elusive 250 target. In between, it will double as a barbell.

How about an offhand stock?  Need to do some weight lifting first.
