This is interesting.  How is the barrel marked?
The scalloped panels on the butt looks German to me but the forend looks traditional BSA.
That German rear sight looks right at home.

You got a very nice example of a fairly rare rifle. The rear sight is a hen's tooth item!

I have a Mod 21 but it's nowhere near as nice as yours and I got no sights with it, but it has proven to be an excellent shooter.

Herman Weihrauch Zella-Mehlis (HWZ) was one of the many Thuringian makers. Their later Mod. 52 target rifles are first class, and were introduced after the war when they had moved into Western Germany.

not my rifle, copied the pic from FB, vintage rimfire rifle collectors forum. I posted the only two pics, figured it was worth a look. sure is in good shape!
