Whatizit?

Picked up a Cadet rifle that has an external cocking device that sticks up out of the top next to the block on the right side. Much like a cocking indicator does. There is no verbage anywhere on the action or barrel and it is nickel plated. It is chambered for a 38 spl cartridge. Any ideas on what it could be?
Francotte maybe?

If it cocks the action I would call it a cocking lever. Picture? My model twelve has one but I believe it is an indicator. No knob to grab onto. Have you got a picture?

This is a safety on the pictured action. Some Belgian miniature martinis have a cocking piece where most have the cocking indicator.

Nope afraid not. If someone will send me their phone number via PM message I will send them some pictures and they can place them here for me. I know it is a lot to ask but I just can't make pictures work.

Sounds like a cocking indicator. The early Model 12"s and some Cadets had them.
The protruding part should sit above the receiver when cocked and go flush when fired.

No it is definitely a cocking piece. I have had Cadet's in the past with cocking indicators. Works fine and cocks on opening. Haven't had time to shoot it yet.
