Marksman, not Marksmar.

I'm not a complete idiot, some of my parts are missing.

Only made for a few years, but they must have sold well. Not as common as Favorites, but you find them on Gunbroker all the time.  They were built to be cheaper and lighter than Favorites. The nearest thing that Stevens ever did with the Maynard design they acquired a decade or two before.

Many were built as centerfires for the 44 Shot cartridge, so they have to be classified as one of the stronger "boys rifles".

I have 4 or 5, acquired at random over the last 20 years.

Now is it worth the trouble to get it across the border even if it is just about $120?

The Marksman is certainly a better gun than the Stevens' Maynard Jr., which as far as I'm concerned is an insult to the name "Maynard".

The little Marksman is not a bad little break open rifle for plinking. This is one I picked up about 20 years ago.

The Model 101 (44 Shot) version is easy to rebarrel to .32 S&W, or you can swap front ends with a .25 RF Marksman and use converted .22 Hornet cases for a reloadable .25-10 centerfire.

I’ve done just that, with one I simply put a .32 rimfire barrel on without re-chambering it, .32 colt shoots fine. I also have one that I put a .25 rimfire barrel on, I use RMC .25-10 turned brass in it. For the conversion you do need to swap out the barrel sleeve from a rifle, as a .44 shot version uses a slightly larger sleeve.
