What are your opinons of some older single shot .22s eg. Remington Target Master, Savage 3, Winchester 67?
I have found a Winchester 67 in good shape and I am waiting for my PTA (permit to acquire (Australia)) before I can collect it.

I have a 67 boys rifle, my kids shot it a lot when they were little with shorts.  Decent enough rifles, and quite accurate.  The target master is also very good, depending on era.  The Remington probably is just a bit better than the Winchester, both quality and design, at least in the better years.  The bolt works better and the trigger is smoother.

the 67 is a good gun and you will be happy.i agree the Remington 510 series is a bit better though but both are classics!

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I have a Win. 67A with the longer 27" barrel, and an old A4 Weaver scope on it. The trigger is a bit heavy, as it should be for kids, but it's a very accurate rifle. Not in the same class as the Remington Target Master though, which is overall a better rifle.

My Winchester 1885 Low Wall 22LR came with a Marbles small tang sight.

I wanted to be able to adjust the elevation with high fidelity during the match.  Also the black cross hairs and black peep sight on a black animal did not work for me.

So I installed  a Lee Shaver Economy Mid Range Soule rear sight and a Skinner tall brass sight on the front.  Still playing with how I might improve the sight picture.   Hoping it will improve my scores.

I have a low wall 22 long, half round, half octagon. I have never seen many 22 rim fire rifles of that era that had any bore left in them. This one has an excellent bore and I have shot the heads off a few grouse with it…

These bolt action 22 rifles are way OT but, I have a collection of them, both Rem and Win.

Of the ones I have, the Win 67 & 68 (upgraded sights), are the most accurate, with std velocity ammo.

The 68 action, is adapted to a Savage 1905 stock and is my most accurate one and a bit more in tune with our type single shots and that hooked butt plate, is the same one used on the Stevens 44.

I keep thinking I am going to buy one of these but I ain't got there yet. I like the ones with the octagon barrels. I keep looking for one with a pistol grip as well. Perhaps I will have to settle for the round barrel version with pistol grip and the 200m military sights.
