Aydt in .22 LR?

A friend found a C.G. Haenel System Aydt on consignment in a local gunshop.  It's a very nice looking rifle, appropriate German tang sight, even has a clock key for adjusting.  The action looks like an Original Aydt.  But the tag says .22 Long Rifle and the gunshop guy says it has a liner.

The asking price is $1800.  Seems high, especially since the price of nice single shots seems to have dropped of late.

But what bothers me (not having seen the rifle) is how do you put a liner in an Aydt action and make everything work?  When closed, my Aydt has a space between the face of the breech block and the breech end of the barrel that is nicely filled by the rim of an 8.15x46R made from a .32-40 or .30-30 case.

Firing pin?  Extractor?

Another friend has a C.G. Haenel single shot Schuetzen gallery rifle in .22 LR, but it is a different action, not an Original Aydt.

What are your ideas?

The liner can extend beyond the end of the barrel. The extractor and firing pin location are work but doable. But, $1800 does seem a bit steep unless the Aydt is one of those that is highly engraved, has some silver or gold inlays and has a carved stock. Ask him for a picture or two or three.
