Using a similar Hoch mold, mine is tapered, BRC barrel.
Consistent 1 1/2- 2 MOA rifle. Works fine for 3 MOA gongs.

My 32-40’s all like 14gr of IMR 4227.  All of them have a different twist and the longer slugs don’t do well in the 1:16 barrels.  I don’t have the bullet lengths on hand, but they seem to be sensitive if too long.

I'll second the 14g 4227 for fixed load.
I used the 319289 with that load in my 32-40  #1 25 years ago.Sadly the mold went with the rifle. then the owner rechambered  to 32 Special!

General terms 14-14.5 4227 is standard my experience. Exact depends on individual outfit.  Might be too simple but it’s the charge I use 200 gr breech seating with a  Hoch mold or 170 gr fixed store bought bullets.

Fixed load just goes faster, not a bad thing. Nature of offhand gong shooting is high volume match or practice groups not measured. Fixed is good enough saves casting time adds case prep time. If benched 2 MOA compared to 1 MOA Breech.

Ken, load is nothing special: Federal LR primers, 14.5 gr of 4227, 205 gr Hoch bullet, light crimp.
Not a great improvement when breech seated. 1 1/2 MOA seems to be the limit.

That’s what I found. Difference breech to fixed not important to offhand particularly our club iron sight matches.  Bench rest it’s a significant factor

Put a lot of effort on practice key to most gong work even off cross sticks. Combine sighting error with less than steady position 1/2 moa mechanical error insignificant
