A Question About Marble-Goss Sights

I have a Marble-Goss mounting rail/base that was made to fit the Stevens Walnut Hill.  I have never owned one of these sights but I see there are a few avilble on eBay.  My question concerns the "dovetail" that the sight fixes too.  Is that dovetail the same regardless of what gun the mounting rail/base was made to fit?  Or in other words, would any of the Marble-Goss sights on eBay fit the mounting rail/base I have for the Walnut Hill?  Thanks

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I've only owned a couple rifles with these sights, and not at the same time. But as far as I can see they appeared to just be different bases, and sights looked the same to me.

The mounting rib on the earlier versions is not as angled at the bottom and they will not really interchange. I have not tried an early one on a late mount though.
