shame so much knowledge has been lost, and a lot of what goes for "knowledge" now is lies.

In my younger days I was rebuilding a 1930 Stutz straight 8 overhead cam engine that had aluminum rods and worn out babbit bearings. No one we could find remembered how to get babbit to stick to the rods.

Luckily, the rifle doesn't know, that I don't know, and will most likely still go bang.

Some collectors and Stevens fans believe that the EX marking was stamped on rifles that were special ordered with options. Stevens listed options in catalogs as “Extras”. I think this is probably true, but agree that no one knows for sure what the EX marking means.

custom billet steel with babbit.
Not my car, I was working for the Dragones (before they were well known) between engineering contracts (job shopping).
This car was supposedly on display at a big show in Paris before they got it.  Got to work on some Cords and the fuel injection on a 300SL also. Nice car to drive.
