Looks like a drill bit that got 'hooked' in with a shallow cut.

Ive seen stuff like that several times on guns where the bore looked good and just looked like some
Bubba ran something sharp into the throat or neck of the chamber. I had a 44-77 like that- figure the person couldnt seat bullets .001 over bore diameter because it had a paper patch chamber so they tried to open it up. Mine wasnt too buggered and I was able to use a boring bar to carefully clean up the chamber. A reamer would probably be the better  way depending on how deep the cuts went.

Measuring the slug, the chamber diameter is .347, the first cut (where the bullet should be) is .336 and the last cut is .317.  I'm wondering and thinking I will get a reamer and  try to recut the chamber to the proper dimensions.  My hope  is that it is just an incomplete chambering  and not a ruined chamber.

32W was Remington's stamp for .32WCF.

The whole thing right from the start of this thread smells of Parkenfarker.

That looks like some of Harlow Parkenfarkers’ work. A  gunsmith of some note, he was famous for his unusual gunsmithing ability.

Have not seen any of his work mentioned here in years. I’m sure some of the old timers will remember him well. I believe Green Frog knew him??

He was most famous among the bench rest shooters for his targets:

Marlin also marked their rifle barrels as .32W to avoid the standard Winchester markings on their guns.

It looks to me like he had a ruptured case and used a military ruptured case extractor like I carried with me with the 1919 -A-3 LMG. Cheesy They will score the chamber if you lock the cam and twist the lever.
The M-60 just flip the lever and give it a shake to eject the barrel and put the new cold one in Cheesy

Found this in The Gunsmith's Manual by Stelle & Harrison 1883.   'Splains a lot about the weird chambers
