Question for the Win 1885 cognoscenti

On my low wall when I close the action the breech block is held tight forward and does not touch the thrust face. Just before it goes into battery, the lever feels like it is “going over Center” maybe the firing pin retraction link? The gap between the rear of the BB an the thrust face is over .015”
Thanks for thinking about it.
Cheers Richard

More coffee is right, but at age 84 I think it may take more than coffee. Thanks Dave, good information. BTW I bought Ray Smith’s book about Pope; I understand he preferred hiwall to other actions. Greg I’ll let you know how it goes; I ordered a few gage pins from Meyers Gage in New Jersey, their prices are very reasonable.
I’ll need to draw the pins back, they are RC-62 now. What hardness do you think I should go for?
Cheers Richard
