When I saw the Title I knew I had to share this somewhat gun related story. It seems BSA (British Small Arms) delved into non gun areas such as motorcycles. I wasn't aware they made outboard motors until I was at an outdoor fair/festival and saw one. It was old, tiny and looked pitifully frail. I was looking it over and the owner asked me if I knew what I was looking at and I assured him I did and he asked if I knew what BSA stood for and I told him whereupon he said I was incorrect. It stood for " Bas#@rd Stopped Again" . Had to laugh at that. Guns the Brits got mostly right but not so much on other stuff. It has been said that Lucas invented darkness and the Brits would make TV"s if they could figure out how to make them leak oil.

Nice gun. Always enjoy seeing what folks can do with those actions.

The BSA single shot 22s are great and keep up with today's
22 target rifles pretty well.
My 12/15 rifle has won me a number of long range .22 matches
and, 
now my BSA Int'l MKII s  are shooting alongside the Voodoos,
and other precision rifles in Mini Palma matches and long range matches  ---to the extent of my later life abilities

I shot one at college in 1963 and was hooked. Finally bought one after college and was immediately hooked again. Today, these are the best buy in used .22 LR match rifles.

BSA even made cars and household appliances in the period after WW2.

I have two BSA's, a Model 12 and an International MkI. Both of which are "cold dead hand" guns. Oh, and a Cadet re-barreled/re-stocked for .357 Maximum. Another one fast becoming a favorite.

As for Lucas electrics, I don't get it. I've messed with British cars for 50 years now and as long as you stay on top of things and don't ignore little glitches that can become big glitches they are as reliable as anything else. Trouble is the average American can't be relied upon to check his oil regularly let alone other routine maintenance, and therein lies the seeds of bad reputations for vintage British cars.

I have a 12/15, a model 15, and Mark IV International ISU LH.
All are very accurate rifles.
I also owned a 1967 E-Type FHC for quite a few years.
No real electrical problems other than the night that the dash mounted hi/lo beam switch fell apart on me. Quite a challenge getting all the little parts back together while holding a flashlight in my mouth. 
Biggest problem was avoiding police radar. LOL
