Vernier sight on #2 and #4 rolling block

I have two .22lr rifles sitting on my bench and could use some help from the group. One is a nice solid frame #4 rolling block and the other a slightly heavier #2 rolling block. I have a bunch of children that like to shoot smallbore silhouette as well as the .22bpcra game. Id like to be able to mount a quality vernier sight (like an MVA midrange) on the tang and was wondering how people have approached this. The tangs are odd shaped and Im thinking that modifying a sight base from some other rifle would entail bending it to fit ? I have the ability to make a sight base from scratch and had been thinking about doing that but am betting someone has a better solution I just havent thought of. Thank you and best

Zack

Zack,
This has been discussed before a I believe. If you want to mount a tang sight on a #2 rolling block, MVA makes a very nice shim/adapter that matches the curvature of the #2 upper tang and is flat on top. Allowing the mounting of any tang sight with the correct Remington hole spacing. The last time I checked they were $35.00.
For the #4 I use the MVA Borchardt base, reversed. And use only one screw as the curvature under the base and on top of the tang does a good job of keeping the base located. The original #4 gallery tang sight only used one mounting screw as well. Hope this helps with your search for a solution.
