Is the barrel drilled and tapped for target scope blocks? Mine was, so I simply screwed on a pair of blocks and am shooting the heck out of it with a Lyman STS 20x. If you are looking to mount a "modern" scope, somebody else will have to advise you.

you can get a EGW  cantilever weaver mount that uses the two rear target mount spacing(if your rifle is tapped). It works fine.

Or there is the mount that uses the 2 rear sight mounting holes in the receiver, very easy to install.
Not conventional maybe, but works very well.  Do take into account when putting a rib on the barrel that the barrel is tapered.  might mess up scope adjustments a bit...
