Cans were available in 1/2 lb and 5lb containers. Later plastic jugs were in 1lb and 4lb containers.

It was also sold in 8 lb containers, near the end of production.

That's what I ended up with at the final end of production (I had a 4 pound the first time they stopped production many years ago) and it may have been about $120 for the 8 pounds.

I am still using up a 12 pound keg of IMR 4759.
Same size steel keg as used for 20# of other powders
such as my 20 pounders of IMR 4227 and 4320. The 4320 is gone and I have some of the 4227 keg left.
At one point, I had bought out a couple of pallets- about 400# of kegs of the various DuPont powders from a distributor who found it to be dead
merchandise for him. Resold most of it, except for those I was using at the time. That old keg of 4759  and the other powders have served me well.

I found a can of SR-4756 which was also 8 ounces. The price on it was $1.95. At that time a one pound can of 4227 was $3.25.

Immediately after they discontinued it, those of us who were/are addicted to it scarffed up all we could, as the price rose. Since then many (most) 4759 users have found satisfactory alternatives and it's not as highly sought after, but because there's not much out there anymore supply&demand has kept its value up. I've witnessed 4759 advertised recently around the internet at an honest $50-60/pound (Gunbroker prices  of optimistic entrepreneurs notwithstanding) but didn't buy any because of seller's refusal to ship it, and largely because I'm sitting on the best part of 20 pounds of it which should hold me.

Last I bought in one pound plastic "cans" was $32.00 dollars a pound during the Obama years.
