My 33-40/47 from CPA is a rather tight .336 bore but once it was throated by CPA it shoots wonderfully. I use Accurate #34-220B
A plugged case works great in my 44-1/2 to breech seat.
I've not shot fixed ammo yet though

Hi CBAShooter, thanks for your reply.
I have an Ron Smith barrel on mine and had Poul Jones maked me 2 moulds of tapered design but I did never get a breech seater for it Sad
I would like to try breech seating for this riffel as well as fixed ammo Smiley

Don't need a breach seater for a Stevens. Just plug a fired case. I used a piece of aluminum rod in the case. Insert a bullet in the chamber, slide in the plugged case and close the action. Open the action, remove plugged case, and insert a primed and charged case. Aim and fire. Accurate Molds will make you any mold/size you need. How do you load fixed ammo for a 33-47?

One of my 33-47 has a neck diameter that will take fixed ammo.i have a set of ch4d 33-40
dies that match the chamber.  My other had a 32-40 (33-40 by cpa) chamber behind a .335 groove barrel with no throat.i had the neck and throat opened by CPA and it's a shooter.
I'll probably never used fixed ammo though.

Ah, my 33-47 is breach seat only with a 32-40 chamber .333 grooves. Original Steven's 44 1/2.

Gents thanks for your reply

For fix ammo I use a set of 33-40 from ch4d,
I sure will try a plugged case as seater, Win85 is the a specific total length for the case with the plug ?
I fireform the cases from 32-40

What kind of load do you use, here we only get Swiss BP

Cbashooter nice target Smiley I hope i will end near that.
