short brass for breach seat OK?

I am shooting a 38-55 with Starline brass, the long version, and I also have some of the short Win brass. I have been breach seating with both the long and short brass, (mostly long). Is there any disadvantage to shooting the short brass if I am breechseating?
Not sure if there will be accelerated throat erosion or some other potential problem.

Thanks!

A lot will depend on how deeply you have to breech seat the bullet to get a good seal. Start by breach seating a bullet as shallowly as possible and testing to see whether you have a solid seal by placing a primed case with no powder into the chamber.  If you have a good seal, the case will pop out smartly after you pop the primer and reopen the action.  There will be very little noise and the bullet will be well engraved.  The actual seating depth needed depends on how soon the bullet seats complettely.
