Who makes a non tapered 32-40 Ballard mold for fixed 32-40  ? I have issues with my Lyman and Hoch tapered molds trying to get even a little crimp on those bullets . Lyman molds would be ok, however I hear they changed their name to  Out of Stock . Thanks

I've had success using Accurate Mold's Hudson-design bullet. For that matter, they'll cut you a cavity to most any dimension you want.

I have a Hoch plain-base mould made for me, they should still have the cherry and be able to make another for you.  It's a non-tapered .32-40, #322200, 209gr using 1:25 alloy. I sized down to .321 with SPG lube.

I don’t know where you would find one today, but 25+ years ago I found what was already an antique then, an old integral handle Ideal 31952 in the 200 gr size. It was and is one of the most accurate bullets I’ve found for 32-40 fixed ammo.  It did well in the old nickel “John Wayne” cases with NRA 50-50lube and a charge of 13.6 gr of 4759.  I also liked a 200 grain Bud Welch bullet over about 16 gr (IIRC) of 4227.

I mention these bullets not because you can order one but because you could start with these designs to have something appropriate made up.

Steve Brooks will make you one.  He made a nice tapered one for me, but he'll make pretty much any design.

Buffalo Arms will ( for a small charge ) let you modify dimensions on their existing designs so you could easily turn a tapered mold into a non-tapered.

I do have a cylindrical Barry Darr Cherry that he had gifted to me.
I have cut numerous bullet moulds with it and just for friends.
But unfortunately I am no longer cutting any more bullet moulds or I would have been more than happy to be able to also help you out.

Also one of the advantages of cutting a Cherrie cut mould is you can also adjust the length / weight to match any twist rate. And to also be able to bore out the basebands diameter to exactly what someone might actually want to have / to create for their own personal needs and wants.
I have cut bullet moulds from 190 grains and up to 230 grains and I just wanted to mention the advantages for any of those who might be thinking about what is actually the best process to use if wanting cut their own and possibly also just for friends or even others in need.
