Box for Telescope
May 8th, 2022 at 6:57am
Print Post
My brother just received a Litschert scope for one of his rifles. He has nothing to store it in so I thought of the scope boxes or cases I have seen in the past. Figured I could make one for him. Now, I can not find even a hint about those boxes.

Does anyone have a box for one of the old target scopes?  If so, would you please post an image so I can get an idea of what I need to build?

Thank you.

Kevin

Sure shot and Hiwall55,

Thank you both. I have looked at the photos and have an idea. Some look like pieces of furniture, questing they are custom made. Others have the look of packing crates, questing those are more the ones from the factory.

One has what looks like interior boxes to protect the mounts? Maybe?

Not sure where I will go with this but will let you know.

I believe someone advertising in the Journal Want Ads makes custom boxes to order for 1-12" and 2" tubes Will look up contact if you need.

Flanders,

I appreciate the offer.  Not necessary as I have the ability and more importantly, the time to build one.

I just need to decide if I want to channel Duncan Phyfe or just use pallet wood!  It seems either would be appropriate.

Richard,

Very nice work.  I like the method you used to clamp the scope in place.

A nice classic scope deserves a classic box.  Good wood and, maybe more importantly, good hardware.  Good hardware is not easy to find.  No Chinese junk!

I built these for some guys that I shoot with.  $100 shipped.  Pine, unfinished, hardware included. Several different lengths for 3/4" scope tube.
